President - Birgit Hayhurst

I am a Bavarian/American Attorney-At Law, busy chasing after three kids, running my own law office and making sure there is always enough coffee in the house. After moving OCONUS to CONUS, and back to OCONUS within three years, I am currently enjoying a happy state of living with no PCS in sight (as long as the Army doesn´t surprise me again). I am currently serving as the Treasurer for two years and enjoy meeting new people through volunteering. I would love to serve as the President for the upcoming board year and continue the great work the BCSC and all of its volunteers are doing.

Vice President - Alysia Damin

I have currently been in Germany one year and served as the previous board year’s Property Manager. I have been involved with my military communities for 11+ years at JBER and Fort Drum. I am a Speech Language Pathologist, mother to two beautiful girls, and enjoy traveling, adventures, and fun gatherings! This upcoming year I hope to bring experiences and events to our BCSC group and cannot wait to make lasting friends and memories with our club!

Secretary - Jackie Brown

I am a qualified Homemaker and Army Spouse since 2006- 2007. Mother to six delightful children, aging between 11 years to 8 months old (2 boys & 4 girls). Married to Josh Brown and the Army for the past 13 years. Before becoming an expert Homemaker, I attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN. I graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree of Social Work and a U.S. Army Officer commission as a Military Intelligence Officer.

After serving on Active Duty for four years (meeting my husband in Korea and getting engaged in Iraq), I got out to start my succeeding profession of being a Mother and Army Spouse. I still volunteer and assist within the Army. I have held various FRG positions, attended classes, and served as BCSC Vice President for the 2019-2020 board year.

I was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago (but am a loyal Cubs fan) and take great pride in where I am from and my family. When life permits it within the controlled chaos of six kids, I love to travel with my husband and kids or anyone who is up for a new adventure. My kids have visited more countries in Europe than different states in the US.

Treasurer - Cari Pavlichko

I was raised in a military family (Navy, not Army) and have moved nine times as a military spouse. This is our second time stationed in Bavaria, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to support the Bavaria Community Spouses' Club.  I enjoy volunteering with my children's various activities and have also previously served on the boards of the Fort Leavenworth Spouses' Club and the Lewis Community Spouses' Club.  My work experience is in the accounting/finance industry, and I have an accounting degree from Bucknell University.

My husband Javier and I have three fur babies: Matilda, Maya and Koko. I don’t have kids, and I hope one day my husband and I can have the opportunity to adopt. I am 33 years old from Miami Beach, Florida, and I grew up in Puerto Rico. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I currently have a Home-Based Business as a Pet Sitter: Pooch Runs.

I have job experience in Retail, Spa, Customer Service and Lodging. I never before knew what it is to be a part of the community since I arrived at Germany in August 2018. I become a volunteer with the USO Bavaria in November 2018 and with the Red Cross Bavaria in February 2020. Our previous duty station was Fort Campbell. There I practiced my profession as a Licensed Esthetician.

Fun facts about me:
• Tea and sweets are my addiction.
 • I have a massive love for skincare.
• I love Italian food
Hobbies:
• Reading a good book (mystery, romantic, true story)
• Crafts (anything that I can use my hand and inspiration)
 • Sweet Baking

Thrift Shop Liaison - Merry McKeown

I’ve been in all aspects of the Army: brat, active duty spouse, and now spouse of a retiree/DoD civilian! Adding it up, I have moved a total of 17 times (4 as a brat, 13 as a spouse) because of the Army.  We’re coming up on our one year here in Germany and my family: husband, 2 daughters & doxie are enjoying all the memories we’re making, even during these copious days of family bonding while social distancing due to COVID-19. I am blessed to be home full time with my girls and able to keep up my skills as a Pediatric nurse practitioner with my permanent patients.

As with most spouses here in Germany, I needed an outlet-side gig, so I signed up to volunteer at the Thrift Shop. Being an enneagram 7, this was the perfect place to meet and socialize with people. Having been the Thrift Shop Liaison for the past 4 months has been eye opening. The BCSC and the thrift shops give so much to our community, which I didn't fully understand.  It was an honor to be able to sit on the boards that helped award grants and scholarships this spring.  We have spectacular contractors and amazing volunteers; knowing that without their hard work and dedication we would not be able to help our military community and organizations.

I would love the opportunity to be the Thrift Shop Liaison next year and continue being a member of an organization, the BCSC, that focuses on helping our local military community.
