In 2017-2018, BCSC awarded $29,000 in educational scholarships to students in our local community. The Spring 2019 Scholarship Cycle is from March 11-April 19. There are two different categories for Scholarships: High School Senior and Continuing Education.
Applications for each category are available before. These are fillable (meaning you can type in them) applications. Be sure to read the application carefully in its entirety!
Applicants or their adult DOD-ID holders must be BCSC Members by April 19, 2019.
Applicants must be a graduating high school senior or a family member of an active, retired or deceased U.S. military service member or DoD civilian whose family resides within the USAG-Bavaria Military Community at the time the scholarship is awarded
Applicant must have a valid DD Form 1173 Military Identification Card.
Applicants awarded an educational scholarship from the BCSC in the Fall of 2018 are not eligible to apply during the Spring 2019 cycle.
Applicant may only apply for one scholarship type.
Either yourself or a parent/legal guardian, if under 18 years of age, must be a member of the Bavaria Community Spouses’ Club. For more information on becoming a member please go to www.bavariacsc.com.
Conditions of the Scholarship Award
The scholarship will be applied to classes taken toward your degree. The scholarship is for payment of tuition, books, laboratory fees, and exam fees.
Scholarship awards will be made payable to the financial office of chosen institution of higher learning. In certain cases, a check may be made payable directly to the student. In these situations, the BCSC must be notified as soon as possible in order to receive reimbursement.
All awards from October applications must be applied by Friday, April 26, 2019, or the balance of the scholarship will be forfeited. All awards from the April applications must be applied by Friday, October 25, 2019, or the balance of the scholarship will be forfeited.
The Bavaria Community and Spouses' Club Scholarship Committee reserves the right to deny any application where there is evidence of fraud and or abuse, incomplete applications, or an inappropriate request of funds based on our Mission. The Bavaria Community and Spouses' Club reserves the right to make final decisions on all applications and use of funds.
To ensure fairness and impartiality, judging is done anonymously. The scholarship chairperson will create a random applicant code. The chairperson will write the applicant code in the upper right corner of all pages in the application. Committee members and applicants names will not be divulged.
